Research Interests:
Quantum transport on topological materials and low-dimensional electronic systems; optical study (magneto-optics, Raman, PL, reflection contrast, etc) on 2D semiconductors, moiré superlattices and 2D magnets.
1. Nano device fabrication:
- Exfoliating 2D materials down to a few or mono- layer limit.
- Stacking the 2D material thin flakes with dry transfer method and build high-quality vdW heterostructures.
- Creation of 2D moiré superlattice: such as twisted bilayer graphene and WS2/WSe2 hetero-bilayer.

2. Exploring the emergent symmetry breaking states and exotic electron correlation phenomena in moiré superlattices:
Fig.2: Moiré superlattice at 1/2 and 1/3 fillings, generalized Wigner crystal states. The filling can be easily tuned by a gate voltage!
3. Topological quantum materials and transport properties:
- Proximity effect between 3D topological insulator and magnets/superconductors.
- Dirac or Weyl semimetals.
- Berry curvature effect in quantum materials.
