Career History:
Professor Kui-juan Jin received her B. S.degree from Optics Department of the University of Shandong,
and her Ph. D.degree at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Advisor:Guo-zhen Yang)
in 1995. She spent two years as a Postdoctoral ResearchAssociate at the University of Tennessee /Oak
Ridge National Laboratory in theUnited States (Advisor: Gerald D. Mahan), and another two years in Lund
University of Sweden (Advisor: Koung An Chao) before she moved back toInstitute of Physics. She was
promoted as a full professor in 2004, and a groupleader in 2005 in Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy
of Sciences. In 2008,Professor Jin was supported by National Science Foundation of China for Distinguished
Young Scientists. She became the assistant of the president ofBeijing National Lab. for
Condensed Matter Physics in 2008. She was Director of Optical Physics Key Lab. of Chinese Academy of
Sciences during 2009-2017. In 2009, she became the Chair of the Committee for Optical Physics of Chinese
Physics Society. She got national award for excellent people in science and technology in China in 2010.
In 2011, she was elected a Fellow of The Institute of Physics (IoP). In 2012, she was elected a Fellow of
The American Physical Society (APS). In 2013, she was elected as a council memberin the Association of
Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS). She has served as an Editor for Sci. Rep. since 2015, Senior
Editorial Advisors since 2017. Since 2015, as the chair, she  has served women in physics group of Chinese
Physical Society. 2017-2021, she was the Vice Chair in C13 (Physics for Development), and a member
in Working Group for Women in Physics in International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).  Since 2021, she has been the Vice President of IUPAP, and the Chair of C13 of IUPAP.

Research Interests:
Her main research interest is exploringnovel properties of low dimensional materials like semiconductors
andperovskite oxides. She has published over 200 research papers in SCI journals including Phys. Rev. Lett.,
Adv. Mater., Appl. Phys. Lett. Phys. Rev.B and so on, and those papers have been cited over 4000 times.
