On December 7, 2024, the 2024 Workshop on ICAM-China International Cooperation Development Successfully held in Liyang, China, was successfully convened at the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center in Liyang, Jiangsu Province. The meeting aimed to discuss ICAM-China’s future development strategies, enhance international collaboration, and welcome new institutional members.
During the seminar, Prof. Piers Coleman, the co-director of ICAM, provided an overview of the International Institute for Complex Adaptive Matter (ICAM) and its pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge materials research worldwide. Following this, Associate researcher Cui Zhang presented the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center’s progress in building an international academic exchange platform and outlined future collaboration prospects.
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the opportunities and challenges facing ICAM-China in global cooperation, sharing insights and recommendations. After thorough deliberation, the assembly unanimously approved the inclusion of the Wenzhou Institute of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (WIUCAS) and Westlake University as new members of ICAM-China. This expansion will further strengthen ICAM-China’s research network and advance China’s contributions to materials science on the global stage.
As a key platform bridging leading research institutions across the world, ICAM-China remains committed to fostering interdisciplinary and cross-border collaboration, supporting the growth of young scientists, and contributing Chinese expertise to global materials science research.
