Professor Hu received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Technical Physics of Peking University in 1994, master's degree from the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997 and Ph.D. degree from Stanford University in 2002. From 2004 to 2008, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Physics of Purdue University. In 2009, he became an associate professor of Purdue University. Since 2010, he has been a researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also the deputy director of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
